My favourite grammar websites are listed below. I've tried to include only high quality sites that contain interactive exercises.

English Grammar for you Online

This website has an extensive range of grammar topics and exercises. I particularly like the English Pool of Exercises which provides 4,287 exercises covering all the major verb tenses.

English Page

This website has a number of very good grammar tutorials and mini-tutorials. The Verb Tense Tutorials are outstanding, with useful explanations of each verb tense and cloze exercises designed to test understanding.

English Grammar Lessons

This is another really useful website, developed by Caroline and Pearson Brown. It provides explanations of all the verb tenses and a series of sentence completion exercises for each tense.

Sound grammar

Each grammar lesson contains a short conversation that highlights how grammar expresses various meanings.

ELC Study Zone: grammar index

This University of Victoria website covers a whole range of grammar topics and comes with a variety of online exercises.

British Council: English Grammar

A very useful website with a long list of grammar information and exercises.

ELC Reference Tools: Grammar and Structure

Parts of Speech, Verbs, Nouns, Adjectives and Adverbs, Sentence Structure, and Parts of Words.

Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL)

This is a website with higher level content and it provides a series of advanced level Grammar Exercises. It also features a very useful search engine designed to help locate any grammar topic of interest. For example, a search for adjectives yielded 140 hits on the OWL site.

Grammar Challenge (BBC Learning English)

Around 50 different grammar topics selected from questions asked by students using the BBC Learning English website. Each topic has an audio file, an explanation, a quiz and useful links. Each topic can be downloaded as an mp3 file.
